Our Adjustments for COVID-19
During These Challenging Times...
March 2020
Our web-shop remains open and we are grateful for your business. Above all, we are thankful for your confidence in placing orders with us during these uncertain times. Now, more than ever, we appreciate all our customers. We have endured hardships before, during our 100+ year history. So, rest assured, G.H.Hurt & Son will continue to offer our best service to you, our customers, where ever you are around the world. Feedback from our customer reviews tells us we are getting this right.
During the current COVID-19 outbreak, we have modified our business practices and adapted to the current challenge. All staff who are able to work from home are now doing so and our Shawl Factory is temporarily closed for visitors, to secure our working environment. Our web-shop remains open and is operating normally. We have taken various steps to allow us to continue in safety.
First, we would like to point out all our shawls and scarves are already washed, with “sensitive skin” detergents, as part of their journey during finishing, before entering into our stock. On receipt of your order, items are picked from stock, which are in sealed bags. Each order is carefully packed to your requirements and our staff are observing social-distancing and maintaining an exceptionally high standard of cleanliness. Your order is packed into individual and sealed packaging prior to despatch.
We are still dispatching orders within a day or so of your order. Our delivery partner, which is the Royal Mail, continues a daily collection service from us, with onward distribution for UK deliveries and abroad to their international postal partners. A separate collection station and a procedure has been established with the Royal Mail and their daily collection.
Through-out these uncertain times, our main priority is for the safety and wellbeing of both our staff and our customers.
Lastly, we are all experiencing such exceptional times at the moment and understand that over the past week or so, faced with unprecedented challenges, delivery services around the world are slowing down. In most countries, postal workers have been designated "key workers" and we understand postal services will continue. Also, in some cases, feedback from our customers indicates postal services are now operating a “no contact” delivery method at your door. Therefore, we ask all our customers to be patient with delivery services during these unusual times.
Best wishes and above all, stay safe.
